Berlin Daily Sun: Hassan helps celebrate Ride the Wilds milestone

NORTH STRATFORD – Top local and state officials gathered Thursday to mark a major milestone in the development of the Ride the Wilds off-highway recreational trail system viewed as a major economic initiative for the North Country.

Ride the Wilds has completed Phase I and OHRV riders can now travel from Pittsburg to Lancaster without having to trailer their vehicles. In all Ride the Wilds consists of over 1,000 miles of OHRV trails with the majority of the trails on private land.

Hassan Campaign Raises Over $2 Million from 3,300 Contributors

Individuals From Over 200 New Hampshire Cities and Towns Contributed; More than Half of the 3,300 Contributors Gave $100 or Less

MANCHESTER – Demonstrating strong support across the Granite State for Governor Maggie Hassan’s record of bipartisan-problem solving, Maggie ’14 announced today that the campaign has raised over $2 million from 3,300 contributors.

Individuals from over 200 New Hampshire cities and towns contributed to Governor Hassan’s re-election effort, demonstrating the Governor’s deep grassroots support throughout the state. More than half of the campaign’s 3,300 contributors gave $100 or less.

Concord Monitor: N.H. breaks ground on new Concord women’s prison

About 100 people, including Gov. Maggie Hassan and several state legislators, gathered yesterday behind the Concord state prison to mark a moment more than 20 years in the making: the ground-breaking for New Hampshire’s first permanent, all-inclusive women’s prison.

“For far too long the outdated and overcrowded women’s prison has meant that we have woefully neglected women in our system,” Hassan said. “But with this new state-of-the-art facility, we will not only improve public safety, we will also restore fairness to our corrections system.”
